Low Combining hip-hop rhythms, brilliant poetry and unflappable honesty, acclaimed artist and social activist Rha Goddess has been compared to Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill and OutKast. In Low, she depicts the dark and human tragedy of mental illness in contemporary culture through the story of Lowquesha – a young woman who is struggling with an all too common and isolated journey through the mental health system. This visceral, kinetic and truly live show is a combination of theatre, poetry, sound and multimedia that breaks boundaries. Low was presented in the 2006 Humana Festival of New Plays at Actors Theatre of Louisville. “Precisely staged and performed with perfection.” |
