BE THE FIRST TO SEE LOCAL PREMIERE OF LOVE, JANIS AT THE CINCINNATI PLAYHOUSE IN THE PARK … AND SAVE MONEY IN THE PROCESS

Tickets on sale for select preview performances beginning July 18

(CINCINNATI) – Now you can save more money for that Mercedes-Benz, Color TV or Night on the Town by being among the first to see the local premiere of Love, Janis at the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. Tickets go on sale Monday, July 18 for select preview performances of the show at a $10 per ticket savings.

Love, Janis — conceived, adapted and directed by Randal Myler and inspired by the book of the same title by Laura Joplin — kicks off this year’s Thompson Shelterhouse season at the Playhouse, with performances beginning September 22 and continuing through November 6. Tickets for the preview performances September 22 through September 25 only will go on sale on Monday, July 18 through the Playhouse box office at 513/421-3888 or online at www.cincyplay.com. All those who purchase tickets to these shows through July 29 will save $10 per ticket off the already discounted preview price of $38.50. Limit four tickets per person.

“Piece of My Heart” … “Try (Just a Little Bit Harder)” … “Me and Bobby McGee” … “Ball and Chain” — Janis Joplin, the icon of 1960s rock music, is brought back to life in both music and words. Love, Janis paints a stunning portrait of the artist not only through her legendary songs, but also in the poignant and honest letters she wrote home to her family. The show was described by the New York Post as “a potent, fresh and enormously crowd-pleasing evocation of the legacy of Janis Joplin.” Regular performance prices range from $45.50 to $54.50 with tickets on sale to the public on August 19. Love, Janis is sponsored by James and Mary Miller and Bartlett & Co.
