TALENT BLOOMS THIS SUMMER AT THE CINCINNATI
PLAYHOUSE IN THE PARK’S POPULAR THEATRE DAY CAMP
Classes begin June 14 with sessions continuing
through July
(CINCINNATI) – This summer, the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park
sets the stage for hundreds of Tristate area young people to explore
the fun and challenging world of theatre through its popular Summer Theatre
Day Camp. Campers can meet new friends, gain self-esteem and confidence
and learn the process and technique of performing, all while having a
great time. Educational and exciting, the Summer Theatre Day Camp offers
three two-week sessions, which begin June 14 and continue throughout
July.
Summer Theatre Day Camp classes provide fun and in-depth explorations of a
broad range of acting skills, from creative movement and improvisational activities
to the singing and dancing techniques needed to perform in Broadway-style musicals.
Most importantly, students get the chance to work with some of the best theatre
teachers and professionals in the city.
Classes are grouped into age categories beginning with students preparing to
enter the third and fourth grades and continuing up through high school. All
classes take place in a friendly and non-intimidating learning environment.
No previous acting or performing experience is required to participate.
Spots currently are still available for all camp sessions. The first two-week
session begins June 14 and continues through June 25. Additional sessions run
July 5 through July 16 and July 19 through July 30. Classes are scheduled Monday
through Friday for half of each day, with morning and afternoon time slots
available for many sessions. All camps conclude with a performance project
in which students demonstrate learned skills for family and friends in a Playhouse
theatre. The cost is $240. A limited number of scholarships are available based
on financial need and merit.
