CINCINNATI PLAYHOUSE ADDS TWO OPPORTUNITIES
TO MAKE A GOOD DATE FOR BAD DATES

Performances Added on February 26 and 27

(CINCINNATI) – Haley Walker, the character at the center of the current Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park production of Bad Dates, may not be experiencing many good dates of late, but she’s definitely winning over Cincinnati theatre audiences. Due to the show’s popularity and limited ticket availability for remaining performances, Bad Dates now has been extended through February 27.

Two performances of Bad Dates, which was scheduled to end public shows on February 25, have been added to the schedule: Saturday, February 26 at 5 p.m. and Sunday, February 27 at
2 p.m. Additionally, Cincinnati theatre fans will want to take particular note of the February 26 performance, which will showcase local actress Annie Fitzpatrick in the role of Haley. A favorite at Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati and Dayton’s Human Race Theatre Company, she has understudied the role of Haley throughout the production and will be making her Cincinnati Playhouse debut.

Bad Dates is an irresistible comedy for anyone who likes to laugh and loves a killer pair of Chanel pumps! Judith Hawking is Haley Walker — a former Texan transplanted to New York City, a divorced mom to a teenage daughter and a successful restaurant manager — who finally has resolved to re-enter the terrifying world of adult dating. But ending up with the right date, it seems, is as difficult as choosing the right pair of shoes for the occasion. As Haley prepares for, and then recovers from, one positively dreadful date after another, she recounts the hilarious stories of her life, revealing the universal traumas associated with searching for the perfect mate.

Playwright Theresa Rebeck is a Cincinnati native. Her plays have been produced off-Broadway and regionally and include The Butterfly Collection, View of the Dome, The Family of Man, Loose Knits and Spike Heels as well as Omnium Gatherum, which premiered as part of the Humana Festival at Actors Theatre of Louisville and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. She is also well known for her writing for television, including shows such as Dream On, Brooklyn Bridge, L.A. Law, NYPD Blue, Third Watch and Law and Order, for which she also served as a producer.

Tickets for all remaining performances of Bad Dates are on sale now. Prices range from $34-$46 depending on day and seat location. Any unreserved tickets are half-price every day when purchased between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on the day of the show (for performances Tuesday through Saturday) and from 12 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The Playhouse is fully accessible. Audio enhancement receivers, large print programs and complete wheelchair access are available.

For tickets or for more information, call the Playhouse box office at 513/421-3888 or toll-free in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana at 800/582-3208. Call 513/345-2248 for TDD accessibility. For single tickets purchased by telephone through the Playhouse box office, there is a $3 convenience fee per call. Tickets also can be purchased on the Playhouse web site at www.cincyplay.com.

Bad Dates is sponsored by Clark, Schaefer, Hackett & Co. and Schiff, Kreidler-Shell, Inc. The Robert S. Marx Theatre Series is presented by The Otto M. Budig Family Foundation. The Marx Season Design Sponsor is Cinergy Foundation.

Artists fly to and from Cincinnati on Delta Connection Comair, the Playhouse’s official airline.

The Playhouse is supported, in part, by the generosity of the tens of thousands of individuals and businesses that give to the Fine Arts Fund.

The Ohio Arts Council also helps fund the Playhouse with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans.

The Playhouse also receives funding from the City of Cincinnati.
