Each year, the Playhouse is proud to partner with many of the region's community arts centers and other community venues to bring three plays "off the hill" to families throughout the Greater Cincinnati area.

 

The Velveteen Rabbit

This treasured childhood classic comes to life in a world premiere adaptation! During the everyday ups and downs of playing with his big sister, a young boy discovers his favorite toy – a velveteen rabbit – to be a source of courage and love. Whether you’ve known this story since you were a child or this is your first interaction with The Velveteen Rabbit, you will enjoy this charming tale about resilience, the power of love and the strength that can be found in playing pretend.

    Each community arts center or venue coordinates the ticket sales for its Off the Hill performances. Visit the page for the show you are interested in above for information and links to reserve tickets.
  • How much do Off the Hill tickets cost?
    Tickets for Off the Hill — whether the show is virtual or in person — are free. Registration is required.
  • What are the recommended ages for each performance?
    Recommended ages, as well as additional information about the plays, can be found on the individual production page for your show.
  • How long does each show last?
    Each show is between approximately 45 and 60 minutes long.
  • May I take pictures of the show?
    Recording and videotaping during the performance are prohibited. If you would like to take a photo of your family streaming the production on your TV or computer screen, feel free! If you share it on social media, please tag the Playhouse in your post — we want to see!
