ABOUT THE SHOW

The gripping psychological thriller that inspired the 1948 Alfred Hitchcock and Jimmy Stewart film of the same name gets a tantalizing new adaptation. Brandon and Lewis, two privileged young men, commit a calculated murder, then host a dinner party for the victim’s acquaintances in the very room where the body is hidden. Convinced they are intellectually superior, the killers believe it is the “perfect murder” and getting caught is impossible. As the evening progresses, tension builds from one moment to the next as Brandon grows bolder, testing his cleverness, and Lewis gets nervous, becoming increasingly erratic. Will they get away with murder? Rope will captivate fans of crime dramas and suspense-filled thrillers and leave you breathless.

Pay What You Can performances are an additional way we try to make live theatre accessible to those who otherwise might not be able to attend our shows. Trained volunteers describe the visual elements of the production via a hearing enhancement system, allowing patrons to hear dialogue, music and other sound effects. The description is timed to avoid interfering with dialogue. Before the show and during intermission, show and actor information are shared.
