2021-22 Season

Each year, the Playhouse is proud to partner with many of the region's community arts centers and other community venues to bring three plays "off the hill" to families throughout the Greater Cincinnati area. This season we will open with a virtual production and hope to be live for the final production. 

 

Snow White

A Virtual Production
This is not your usual "Once Upon a Time." It's a wild, hilarious two-person play. Snow White and the Seven Dwarves are portrayed by two extraordinary, whip-smart, super-fast actors who play Snow White, the huntsman, the prince and all seven dwarves. Join the fun and expect the unexpected in this fabulous fairy tale with a you-won't-see-it-coming twist!

Hare and Tortoise

A Hybrid (Virtual and In-Person) Production
Meet two competing friends in this fantastic adaptation of Aesop's fable. Hare and Tortoise tells the sweet story of opposites and friendship. From sun-shining spring to snow-falling winter, this much-loved tale is brimming with ideas, characters, live music and wonderful physicality — all leading up to their famous race and its nail-biting, medal-winning end.

The Little Mermaid

A Live, In-Person Production
Far below the crashing waves of the ocean's surface lives a young mermaid. Enthralled by the unknown world above the sea, the Little Mermaid finds herself falling in love with a mysterious human. After a vicious storm throws him from his ship, she saves him but must make a deal with the evil sea witch. Will she break the spell and find true happiness? Young theatregoers will delight in this magical, charming adaptation.

How much do Off the Hill tickets cost?
Tickets for Off the Hill — whether the show is virtual or in person — are free. Registration is required.

What are the recommended ages for each performance?
Recommended ages, as well as additional information about the plays, can be found on the individual production page for your show.

How long does each show last?
Each show is between approximately 45 and 60 minutes long.

May I take pictures of the show?
Recording and videotaping during the performance are prohibited. If you would like to take a photo of your family streaming the production on your TV or computer screen, feel free! If you share it on social media, please tag the Playhouse in your post — we want to see!
