You know that the Playhouse produces
shows of exceptional quality — plays that are engaging, entertaining
and exciting brought to you by extraordinary actors, designers and
directors. What you may not realize is that the Playhouse is a not-for-profit
theatre with the mission not just of presenting great theatre, but
also making theatre affordable and accessible to everyone in our Greater
Cincinnati community.
The Playhouse could never provide affordable tickets,
create productions from scratch or offer free outreach initiatives
and discounted education programs by relying on ticket sales alone.
In fact, 30 percent of each Playhouse production and all of our education
and outreach programs are made possible by someone very special — you.
Your gift to the Playhouse ...

Presents the finest plays available — plays
like our world premiere of The Love Song of J. Robert Oppenheimer,
honored with a citation as the runner-up for the 2004 American Theatre
Critics Association/Steinberg New Play Award, to regional premieres
like Metamorphoses and the off-Broadway hit Blue — many
of which Cincinnati audiences are among the first to see.
Brings some of the nation’s finest actors,
directors, designers and theatrical artists to Cincinnati
to become a part of our community and present their artistry for
us.
Creates Playhouse productions from scratch — the
scenery, costumes, lighting, special effects and more — for
a theatrical experience that is unique to our Greater Cincinnati
community.
Keeps Playhouse ticket prices as affordable
as possible so that most people from our community can
attend.
