TICKETS FOR FAMILY PREVIEW PERFORMANCES OF A CHRISTMAS CAROL
ON SALE JULY 30

Lowest prices of the season available for the best seats in the house

(CINCINNATI) – The weather outside may be hot and steamy, but the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park is thinking cool thoughts of snow and holiday cheer. Tristate families with the same inclination to beat the heat (and the December rush) can save big when they buy tickets now for the theatre’s favorite annual production of A Christmas Carol.

Tickets for four specially priced preview performances of the Stona Fitch Family and KeyBank presentation go on sale to the public beginning Monday, July 30, offering those who purchase early the best seats in the theatre at the lowest prices.

Adult tickets for the preview performances of the yuletide classic are priced at just $40, more than 25 percent off the regular ticket price. In addition, everyone who purchases tickets during the first week of the sale — between July 30 and August 6 — can save an additional $5 off the already discounted preview price on selected seats.

Preview performance dates are Saturday, December 1 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, December 2 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. The $5 discount is not good on A section seats, with other promotions or on children’s or teen’s tickets, which already are discounted. Limit four tickets per order.

Tickets are on sale through the Playhouse Box Office at 513/421-3888 or online at www.cincyplay.com.

Please note: Tickets for all other performances of A Christmas Carol, which runs through December 30, go on sale to the general public beginning August 13 both online and through the Playhouse Box Office. Tickets for all A Christmas Carol performances are on sale to Playhouse season subscribers beginning July 23.

Now in its 17th year, A Christmas Carol remains one of the most cherished events of the holiday season. Written by Charles Dickens and adapted by Howard Dallin, the fable of Ebenezer Scrooge and his night among the spirits blends with dazzling costumes and special effects to create a fun-filled event for the entire family. The show features a cast of more than 30 performers, including nine area children and favorite local actor Bruce Cromer, reprising his role as Ebenezer Scrooge.

Regular prices for A Christmas Carol range from $43 to $56 depending on day and seat location. Tickets for children ages 5 to 12 are just $20, while, new this year, tickets for teens ages 13 to 19 are just $30 (in sections B, C or D). Children under the age of 5 cannot be admitted.

For tickets or more information, call the Playhouse box office at 513/421-3888 or toll-free in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana at 800/582-3208. Call 513/345-2248 for TDD accessibility. For single tickets purchased by telephone through the Playhouse box office there is a $3 convenience fee per call. Tickets also can be purchased on the Playhouse web site at www.cincyplay.com.

Artists fly to and from Cincinnati on Delta Connection Comair, the Playhouse’s official airline.

The Playhouse is supported, in part, by the generosity of the tens of thousands of individuals and businesses that give to the Fine Arts Fund.

The Ohio Arts Council helps fund the Playhouse with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans.

The Playhouse also receives funding from the City of Cincinnati.
