IT’S CHRISTMAS IN JULY AS CINCINNATI PLAYHOUSE IN THE PARK OFFERS CHANCE TO BUY EARLY AND SAVE BIG ON HOLIDAY FAVORITE A CHRISTMAS CAROL

Best seats at the lowest prices available for special preview performances, on sale July 24

(CINCINNATI) – For the first time, the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park is offering Tristate families the chance to save big when they make their holiday plans early for its favorite annual production of A Christmas Carol. Tickets for four specially-priced preview performances of the Stona Fitch Family and KeyBank presentation of Charles Dickens’ classic ghost story of Christmas go on sale to the public beginning Monday, July 24, offering those who purchase tickets early the best seats in the theatre at the lowest prices.

Adult tickets for the preview performances of the show are priced at just $38.50, more than 25 percent off the regular ticket price. In addition, everyone who purchases tickets during the first week of the sale — between July 24 and August 1 — can save an additional $5 off the already discounted preview price on selected seats. This year, the Playhouse has added three weekend preview performances to the schedule to accommodate busy families.

Preview performance dates are Saturday, December 2 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; Sunday, December 3 at 2 p.m.; and Wednesday, December 6 at 7 p.m. The $5 discount is not good on A section seats, with other promotions or on children’s tickets, which already are discounted. Limit four tickets per order.

Tickets are on sale through the Playhouse Box Office at (513) 421-3888 or online at www.cincyplay.com.

Please note: Tickets for all other performances of A Christmas Carol, which runs through December 30, go on sale to the general public beginning August 18 online and beginning August 21 through the Playhouse Box Office. Tickets for all A Christmas Carol performances are on sale to Playhouse season subscribers beginning July 17.

A Christmas Carol is celebrating its 16th year at the Playhouse, and it remains one of the best-loved events of the holiday season. The Playhouse’s version of Charles Dickens’ tale is a combination of faithful storytelling and lavish spectacle. Adapted by Howard Dallin, the fable of Ebenezer Scrooge and his night among the spirits blends with dazzling costumes and special effects to create a fun-filled event for the entire family. The show features a cast of more than 30 performers, including nine area children and favorite local actor Bruce Cromer, reprising his role as Scrooge for the second year.

Regular prices for A Christmas Carol range from $41.50 to $54.50 depending on day and seat location. Tickets for children ages 5 to 12 range from just $15 to $20. Due to the full-length nature of the show, children under the age of 5 cannot be admitted.

For tickets or more information, call the Playhouse box office at 513/421-3888 or toll-free in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana at 800/582-3208. Call 513/345-2248 for TDD accessibility. For single tickets purchased by telephone through the Playhouse box office there is a $3 convenience fee per call.

Artists fly to and from Cincinnati on Delta Connection Comair, the Playhouse’s official airline.

The Playhouse is supported, in part, by the generosity of the tens of thousands of individuals and businesses that give to the Fine Arts Fund.

The Ohio Arts Council helps fund the Playhouse with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans.

The Playhouse also receives funding from the City of Cincinnati.
