POSITION: Education Department Paid Internship Position

The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park is looking for a qualified candidate to fill an internship position in education and outreach. This is a 40-week, paid, full-time position beginning in the fall of 2008. The education intern will report to the director of education and assist him in the implementation and design of all Playhouse educational programming including (but not limited to) the outreach touring program, Adopt-A-School and other in-school programs. Other responsibilities will include researching and writing of study guides, reading scripts, assisting with Playhouse acting classes and some general office duties. There may also be opportunities to teach.

We are looking for candidates with a  BA or MFA/MA in theatre and/or theatre education. In addition, all candidates should have some background in working with young people in the form of teaching, directing or school/theatre camp programs. Candidates should also possess word processing and computer experience, have strong writing skills and be detail-oriented. A car will be necessary for frequent travel to schools.

POSITION: General Manager

The two-time Tony Award-winning Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park (LORT B+) seeks a dynamic General Manager to help facilitate its next phase of growth.  This senior staff member will perform the following functions:

  • Supervise Facilities, Human Resources, Company Management, and Front-of-House departments consisting of 5 direct reports and a total staff of 21
  • Manage $1.5M portion of Playhouse budget
  • Negotiate all guest artist contracts, including education and ancillary programming
  • Coordinate LORT, AEA, SSDC and USA reporting, documentation and compliance
  • Serve as administrative coordinator for Playhouse safety and liability insurance programs
  • Assist Executive Director in advocating for increased Ohio Arts Council funding
  • Oversee Volunteer Program
  • Other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will have 5 years arts management or related experience with progressively increasing responsibility and will be detail oriented, have strong leadership, negotiation, budget management and communication skills and the ability to multitask.  Knowledge of LORT and collective bargaining agreements desired.

POSITION: Technical Director

The Tony Award winning Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park (LORT B+ and D) is accepting applications for the position of Technical Director. The Technical Director is responsible for supervising the Scene shop staff, all aspects of scenery construction, and the coordination of technical elements for a ten show season plus an annual production of A Christmas Carol. Shop staff consists of 2 Assistant TDs, 5 carpenters, a Charge Scenic Artist, 2 Assistant Scenic’s, Props Manager, and 3 props staff, plus part-time personnel. Necessary skills include AutoCad drafting, familiarity with a wide range of scenic materials and construction techniques, and experience with stage automation. Good interpersonal and communication skills are a must. Familiarity with OSHA-compliant safety programs a plus. A minimum of five years of LORT or similar experience is required. Position is salaried full time (12 months). Benefits include vacation, health and dental insurance, and a 401K match.

POSITION: Ticket System Administrator

Job Description:

The Ticket System Administrator for Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park facilitates the overall operation, coordination, functionality and continued development of the Tessitura ticketing system for the ticketing, marketing and education departments to ensure optimal reporting, relationship tracking and order processing capabilities. Assigns and manages system-related duties of all ticketing staff, working closely with Ticket Services Manager to ensure optimal use of staff and system on issues including training. Ticket System duties include, but are not limited to, building master charts, season and single events and price charts; overseeing database and account maintenance; formulating and documenting policies and procedures; performing quality control audits; developing more efficient systems for ticket services and creating format files. Provides support to ticketing and marketing departments with generating and analyzing reports, pulling stored information and other reporting needs and works closely with the Database Administrator to develop new custom reports. Periodically works ticket services shifts and acts as on-duty manager. Serves as a member of the IT Committee. Reports to the Marketing Director. This is a full-time salaried position, including full benefits.

Qualifications:

A good working knowledge of the Tessitura ticketing system is a must as is proficiency in MicroSoft EXCEL. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter who can work independently and proactively to achieve optimum operation of the ticket system, while also working cooperatively and with flexibility as a member of the Ticket Services team. Excellent organization skills and extreme attention to detail are absolute musts. Proven success as a manager is a plus as is customer service experience. Equal Opportunity Employer.
