About the Show

Live, in-person in the Marx Theatre! Broadway star and recording artist Chester Gregory expertly honors the legends of Rock and Soul. The star of Motown: The Musical, Hairspray, and Dreamgirls won acclaim for his outstanding portrayal of Jackie Wilson in The Jackie Wilson Story. In concert, Gregory offers his considerable talents to the music of Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, James Brown, and more. The New York Times exclaims Gregory is "jaw dropping" and "over flowingly charismatic." Featuring a sensational band, hit songs include "I Got You (I Feel Good)," "(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay," and "My Girl." Presented by Artists Lounge Live.

• Accessible parking is available. Parking is free for this performance, and is first-come, first-served.
• The Marx Theater is equipped with an infrared hearing enhancement system. Receivers can be picked up from a House Manager once inside the theatre. All receivers are cleaned and sanitized before and after use.

About the Artist

Chester Gregory is an award-winning Broadway veteran and recording artist. The New York Times calls him, "jaw dropping...over flowingly charismatic," stating “Gregory has the audience eating out of the palm of his hand.” His Broadway credits include starring in Motown: The Musical (Berry Gordy), Hairspray (Seaweed), Sister Act (Eddie), Tarzan (Terk, Original Cast), and Cry-Baby (Dupree, Original Cast). National tours include Motown: The Musical (Berry Gordy), Sister Act (Eddie), Dreamgirls (James “Thunder” Early). Mr Gregory's breakthrough role came with his outstanding portrayal of Jackie Wilson in The Jackie Wilson Story, launched at Chicago's Black Ensemble Theatre and culminated at New York's renown Apollo Theatre. Regional theatre credits include Shrek (Donkey), Fences (Lyons), and Two Trains Running (Sterling). Television appearances include performances on The Daily Show, The View, and The Tony Awards. As a recording artist, Gregory, also known as CHΞSS, has collaborated with industry greats including Phil Collins, Marc Shaiman, Ledisi, and Chance The Rapper. Studio recordings include multiple singles, Original Broadway Cast recordings, and his album In Search of High Love. He is the recipient of Chicago’s Jeff Award, the NAACP Theatre Award, the key to the city of his hometown of Gary, Indiana, as well as an honorary Doctorate Degree from Columbia College Chicago. About the Company

Chicago-based concert company Artists Lounge Live presents popular music of yesterday performed by singular talents of today. "Superb musicianship and powerful storytelling set us apart. Artists Lounge Live is created, produced, and curated by husband and wife team Michael and Angela Ingersoll. All-around entertainer and producer Michael Ingersoll starred as Nick Massi of the Four Seasons in the original San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Chicago casts of Jersey Boys. He also created, recorded, and toured internationally with retro-rock vocal group Under the Streetlamp, as seen on PBS. Emmy-nominated actress and writer Angela Ingersoll tours nationally in Get Happy: Angela Ingersoll Sings Judy Garland, as seen on PBS.
