There are so many ways to experience art from home! Here’s a running list that features our suggestions — we’ll continue to update over the next few weeks with fun and inspiring ways to keep the arts in your life.

Stream Theatrical Performances

Watch our production of Destiny of Desire, presented by Leading Ladies! It's available to rent on Vimeo for $35 through April 11.

*Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber will post a musical once a week on his new YouTube channel — The Shows Must Go On! Shows will be available for free for 48 hours, so you can tune in whenever you like over the weekend. National Theatre Live is also releasing free full-length plays every Thursday on YouTube. You can watch each play for one week before it disappears. The lineup includes James Corden in One Man Two Guvnors, starting April 2. Kids can stream Children's Theatre of Cincinnati's Casper: The Friendly Musical on YouTube for free, right now, too!

Subscription Services
Check out Shrek the Musical, Springsteen on Broadway or Oh, Hello on Broadway on Netflix, and Newsies: The Broadway Musical! on Disney+. Or, visit Broadway HD — a subscription service with tons to choose from, including Daddy Long Legs (which began its life at the Playhouse in 2009-10). They have ballet and opera performances available to stream as well.

Websites and Apps
Audible has fully produced plays by well-known playwrights, including Lauren Gunderson (who wrote The Revolutionists and Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley, and was the top-produced playwright in America in 2019). LA Theatre Works has a catalog of over 500 plays on audio, including August: Osage County and other popular titles, available for purchase.

*Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre is sharing full-length videos of the company performing on stage via their Ailey All Access site.

Give your spirits a lift early this year! Check out one of the many adaptations of A Christmas Carol to rekindle the magic we create on stage each season (or at least hold you over until the show is back again this winter). *Plus, print our vintage coloring pages for the kids!
